Josephine Baker Bust by Hagenauer
I have had the smaller version of this same Josephine Baker bust before but never seen a HUGE one like this. Apparently the reason for its size is that it was made by Hagenauer for the Rena Rosenthal shop at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York for display. There were two made and there is a label to the back that reads Rena Rosenthal not for re sale. The base is covered in its original felt and I have not removed it to see if there is a Hagenauer mark. It measures 19 inches high (48.5cm). Condition is vintage and used but very good with some minor age related marks as one would expect. A very rare find indeed.

Josephine Baker Dancer
The Josephine Baker dancer, this one is unusual as it has the gold patina to the metal body and limbs. The skirt is made of carved walnut and she measures approx. 12.5 inches high (31.5cm). Under the base it is stamped Hagenauer, Handmade, made in Austria and bears the Hagenauer stamp. This one is an earlier piece as she has the original supporting foot - the later ones had a club foot fitted as it was stronger (but it does not look very nice). Condition is very good, she does pivot on her supporting foot (which is the reason they changed the later ones), but is very secure.

Diane Centaur by Hagenauer
Bronze centaur, half horse lady Diane, from Greek mythology. This has a chromed patina on bronze and is very stylised in true Hagenauer fashion. I have another similar Diane pieces by Hagenauer also - (ask for pics of B236). It measures approx. 8 inches long by 2.5 inches deep by 10 inches high to the end of her spear ( 20cm x 6.5cm x 25.5cm). Marked to the base with the Hagenauer stamp. Condition is good but there is some age related chrome loss to the chrome finish where the bronze is shining through and a dark mark to the base.

Giraffe by Hagenauer
I am not sure if Hagenauer designed this as a mirror (as you can see in it but not clearly) or as a dinner gong? However it is a fabulous stamped piece by the artist. It measures approx. 12 inches (30cm) high (tbc). Condition is vintage and used but very good.

The Jazz Player
Chromed bronze two dimensional Saxophonist. Part of the Jazz players series. produced in Austria, artist unknown. Originally there were I believe 4 band members - kettle drummer, singer, saxophonist and and the harmonium player (which I also have - ask for pics of B275). I recently sold the kettle drummer but have yet to see the singer. He measures 12 inches long by 1.5 deep (he is 2 dimensional) by 9.25 high (30.5cm x 4 x 24). Condition is vintage and used with some minor wear to the chrome patina on the edges where the bronze is shining through. A very rare item.
