This section is devoted to my collection of Jewellery by Marie-Christine Pavone.

Marie-Christine Pavone is a very imaginative jewellery maker working in Paris. Her innovative designs are created using vintage 1920's and 1930's galalith which she hand carves, paints and then polishes. Each Pavone piece is unique as it is hand made and all items are signed by her. The brooches are fitted with a roll safety clasp. She produces mainly brooches but also necklaces, bangles and earrings. The galalith is old unused stock and gets its name from the Greek gala (meaning milk) and lithos (stone). It is one of the oldest phenolic materials and a mixture of solidified milk and formaldehyde and was first produced in 1897. It has been used for many items like buttons, pens, boxes, dice, accessories and jewellery worldwide ever since.

Cat Bangle by Pavone
Chunky bangle in yellow and green galalith by Pavone. It measures 2 inches high to the front cat panel (5cm). As it is elasticated it will fit a small to medium wrist size. Condition is as new condition, signed by Pavone to the rear of the cat head panel.

Cat Bangle by Pavone
A chunky bangle in red and grey galalith by Pavone. It measures 2 inches high to the front cat panel (5cm). As it is elasticated it will fit a small to medium wrist size. Condition is as new condition, signed by Pavone to the rear of the cat head panel.

Black and red galalith large cat ring stand for the dressing table. He measures a large 7 inches high (18cm) high. Condition is as new condition and signed by Pavone under the base.

Clown brooch by Pavone. He is called Nestor. He measures 3 inches long (7.5cm). Condition is as new condition, fitted with a roll safety clasp and signed by Pavone to the rear.

Large green galalith field mouse brooch with wire whiskers and cord tail. He measures 3 inches high (7.5cm). Condition is as new condition, fitted with a roll safety clasp and signed by Pavone to the rear.
