Lea Stein - Page 1

This section is devoted to my collection of brooches by Lea Stein.

Lea Stein was born in Paris in 1931. She married Fernand Steinberger in the 1950's - who was a chemist and created the celluloid laminate used to make the amazing jewellery and items designed by Lea Stein. She originally worked for Cocoa Chanel before starting production of her own in 1969, producing brooches, rings, bangles, necklaces, earrings, combs, jewellery boxes, picture frames, buttons and accessories. She stopped production in 1981 but due to popular demand re-opened again a few years later. Each brooch is signed, Lea Stein, Paris and has the V-shaped safety clasp. Due to the manufacturing process that is used, each brooch is different and individual. These items are now extremely collectible, and although not made during the deco years, are considered very deco in style.

Lea Stein Joan Crawford or Carmen Brooch
She measures 2 inches high and over 2 inches wide, and is signed on the V clasp. This is my favourite - along with Tennis. These were I believe made from 1968 to 1980, and are getting more difficult to obtain, and are therefore very collectible pieces. Price is £65 each.
All sold except top right and middle right.
