
Shapland and Petter Display Cabinet c.1900
This is a rare, high quality mahogany and marquetry display cabinet by the renowned English maker Shapland & Petter of Barnstable. Although very Art Nouveau it is early enough to still be influenced by the Arts & Crafts movement. The quality of workmanship is outstanding.
The central section is glazed with original bevelled glass having a decorative cornice above an openwork plated-metal panel of stylized snowdrops. Retaining original velvet lining and glass shelves to display area. Flanked by cupboards below open shelves having original bevelled mirrors to lower shelves and a gallery with Voysey influenced cut out hearts to upper shelves. The doors, frieze drawer and top cornice are inlaid with stunning stylized lilies and butterflies in fruitwoods and mother-of-pearl. Even the door furniture is of high quality being sinuous plated-metal. Shapland & Petter makers marking to lock. In wonderful original condition. Approx. height 76 inches (193cm), 48.5 inches (123cm) wide and 19 inches (49cm) deep.

Fabulous Lacquered Rocket Cabinet
A stunning and absolutely unique burgundy lacquered rocket display cabinet. Recently hand lacquered in a high gloss burgundy finish. I have taken some pics with a flash as well, and they have come out a totally different colour! Must be seen for an accurate colour reflection. Standard rocket cabinet dimensions 53 inches high, 14 inches deep (including the handles and 40 inches wide (134cm x 36cm x 102cm). Currently only 3 internal shelves, but in thick 10mm glass allowing for the display of taller items. The handles are an amazing cream and brown bakelite with bronze mounts and detail, reflecting the circular cabinet shape. Condition is excellent. We also have a number of rocket display cabinets in original walnut finish in our furniture section.

 Display Cabinet
English walnut display cabinet ideal for showing your collection. These
square cabinets are not as stylish as the circular ones but they are much
more practical for display purposes. They hold a lot more and it is much
more visible! This one has lovely silver Odillon banding detail to the
glass. It measures 42 inches wide by 47 high and 13 inches deep. It has 3
large shelves. Condition is reasonable, no damage to glass, or major veneer damage, but used condition.

A two tier walnut trolley with lift-up wings either side (giving the effect of an aeroplane) and also a drop back shelf panel. In good working order and very good condition. Four wheels. Measures 31 inches long, 16 inches wide and 27 inches high.

Small French Buffet
Portorro marble topped walnut buffet with gilt metal handles and flared base, serpentine doors, round edged side panels and internal shelf. Smaller than average size 47 inches (120cm) wide, 40 inches (102cm) high, 18.5 inches (47cm) deep. Back of rear panel has a taped up split, not visible from front or inside. Otherwise immaculate.

Paul Follet Dressing Table
Attributed to French designer, Paul Follet, this wonderful dressing table is of Satin Birch, with serpentine door and curved and flared end, flared base and chrome and peach glass handle. The mirror is in excellent condition as is the dressing table having recently come from the polishers. The two boudoir chairs shown below are the original accompanying chairs.
