Bronze Hoop Dancer by Bouraine
Wonderful brown patinated bronze nude standing 22 inches high (56cm) to the top of her hoop and signed in the brown onyx base. Excellent condition. This is the large bronze hoop dancer by Bouraine, I also have the smaller version. It is my belief that Marcel Bouraine used the pseudonym Briand, as I have a large and small version of this same statue but signed Briand. Marcel Bouraine was a famous French sculptor considered to be among the top deco artists. Information regarding Bouraine can be found on my 'Information on Sculptors' page.

Large Bronze Advertising Figure

The Bubble Dancer
French bronze dancer wearing a toga, very much in the style of the Godard Bubble Dancer which was modelled on the actress Ada May. A mystery piece as the vide poche marble base is signed Pierre Le Faguays, and when I purchased this item in France I was told it came from the family of Godard and had never been mounted on the base but was later mounted on the current base. It was not unusual for unsold pieces by an artist to be returned to the family on the artists death, and often the widow could not afford to have them mounted on bases and sold them as scrap or without a base. She is indeed a perfect match for the larger Godard Bubble Dancer and is an exceptional bronze casting. She measures 13.5 inches wide and 12 inches high including the portorro marble base. Very good condition.

Amazonian Warrior by Pierre Le Faguays
Stunning dark green patinated bronze nude with sword and shield. Made in the early 1930's by the famous Pierre Le Faguays and signed to the marble base. This is the larger version of this statue and as such has more detailed patterning to her shield. She measures a total height of 22 inches (56cm), including the verdigris marble base. Similar statue can be viewed in the Catley Book on page 198. Email me for more pics (quoting ref number) as she looks stunning from all angles, and would benefit from a mirror behind her to show this. Condition is extremely good.

Old Time Dance by Rozet
A large gilt solid bronze group as a lamp by Fanny Rozet - signed in the bronze. The group is of a pair of ladies either side of a dapper gentleman, and is mounted on a shaped base of black marble. This rarer version of this figure is actually a lamp and has the lamp fitting to the back, and can be viewed in both the Catley books on page 287 and page 313. At the moment this piece has a pink shade but the buyer may choose their own to fit their decor. Condition is very good - email me for more pics. Total height including shade is 24 inches, marble base measures 16.5 inches wide. Rewired but must be checked before use.
